WaifuLabs is an AI-powered platform designed to generate custom anime portraits based on user’s preferences. Developed by Sizigi Studios, a group consisting of MIT researchers and artists, it leverages a neural network to create personalized anime characters, which it calls waifus and husbandos.

The creation process is simple and user-friendly, consisting of four easy steps that allow the AI to understand and refine its depiction according to the user’s likes. Beyond merely creating static images, WaifuLabs facilitates the integration of these characters into a game named Arrowmancer, thus extending the utility of the generated portraits. This service is freely available and intended to democratize the creation of anime art through machine learning technology.

Since its launch, WaifuLabs has continually evolved by incorporating feedback to increase the quality of the generated artwork.
