Google equips Chrome with Skills feature to save and reuse your best Gemini AI prompts

Google just made it easier than ever to harness AI inside Chrome. The company rolled out a new feature called Skills that turns your most useful Gemini prompts into one click tools you can use again and again across the web.

How Skills bring efficiency to daily browsing 🤖

In Chrome the Gemini side panel already helps with all sorts of tasks but typing the same detailed prompt repeatedly gets old fast. Skills fix that problem. Users can save any prompt they like directly from their chat history give it a custom name and tweak the instructions as needed. Then they simply type a forward slash or hit the plus button to bring up their personal library and run it instantly on the current page or even multiple tabs.

This works seamlessly because Skills operate within the context of whatever website you have open according to coverage from Ars Technica.

Ready made options and custom creations 📋

Google also provides a selection of premade Skills to get started such as tools for buying advice meal planning or comparing products. One popular example involves analyzing a recipe to calculate protein content suggest vegan substitutions and recommend additions to boost nutrition. Another acts as a gift concierge pulling ideas based on occasion and preferences. These examples demonstrate how Android Police explains the feature tackles prompt fatigue head on.

People can create their own from scratch or remix the ready ones to fit specific needs. BestAITools.com highlights Google Gemini as a leading multimodal AI assistant and this update makes it even more practical for everyday use inside the browser.

Rollout details and future potential 🔄

The Skills feature is now rolling out to Mac Windows and ChromeOS users who have their Chrome language set to English US. Saved Skills sync across devices as long as you stay logged into your Google account.
