Poe, which stands for Platform for Open Exploration, is a platform that lets people ask questions, get instant answers, and have back-and-forth conversations with AI. It does that by enabling users to explore and interact with various bots powered by third-party Large Language Models (LLMs) and developers, including OpenAI and Anthropic. Moreover, the tool allows everyone to create their own bot powered by these third-party LLMs.
Once created, these bots can be used for various purposes — from learning, writing help, translation, programming help, summarization, entertainment, and more.
Each bot has its own description in its profile and the name of the company, developer, or individual who created the bot.
Conversations with bots are private and are not visible to other users of Poe. If you tap the Share button, you will be prompted to choose any messages you want to share with others, and the messages you select will then be copied to a new share object – which will be visible to whoever you share it with. If you choose “Share on Poe” as part of the share flow, the messages you have chosen to share will be copied to a post that will be visible to other Poe users.
Poe includes both free and subscription bots.
